Mr. Scott Naugle
About the instructor:
Mr. Naugle has trained with the Gracie family since July of 1997 and currently holds the rank of Brown Belt. Mr. Naugle was a representative for Master Rickson Gracie until Master Gracie closed the association. Now Mr. Naugle is part of team GroundWorks, headed by Rickson and Kron Gracie black belt, Brandon Hetzler.
In addition to his BJJ brown belt, Mr. Naugle also holds the rank of 1st
degree Black Belt in Judo, and a 1st degree black belt in
Kickboxing/karate under the late, legendary Joe Lewis (he was one of Bruce Lee's training
partner) and he holds a first degree black belt in traditional Japanese
Aiki-Ryu Ju-jitsu.
Mr. Naugle began his martial arts training in 1985 and began teaching martial arts in 1995. Mr. Naugle has trained in Judo, Kickboxing, boxing, Filipino stick and knife, traditional Japanese Ju-jitsu (Aiki-Ryu Ju-jitsu), Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido, Non-Classical Gung Fu and other martial arts. Mr. Naugle has trained off-duty police officers and military personnel including off-duty special forces, rangers, delta, and S.E.A.L.S. Mr. Naugle has also trained many, many average day people just looking for good self-defense.
Today Mr. Naugle offers classes in Gracie Jiu-jitsu, women's self-defense, Kids "BullySafe", private lessons and seminars.
Additional Experience:
HOWARD COUNTY RECREATION AND PARKS - Columbia, MD. Mr. Naugle taught a BJJ/Gracie self-defense class through the H.C.R.P.
WILDE LAKE KARATE - Columbia, MD. Mr. Naugle was an instructor at the kids summer camp in 2006.
COLUMBIA ASSOCIATION - Columbia, MD. Mr. Naugle taught Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and KickBox Fitness at the Athletic Club from 2004-2005.
JOE DIAMOND'S KARATE, BJJ and MUAY THAI- Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 2002-2004. Student of Mr. Joe Diamon; Mr. Diamond was then a Brown Belt Representative for the Rickson Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Assocation. Mr. Diamond is also a representative for Sakasem Fairtex. (Sakasem is a Master Muay Thai Instructor, he is a three time Muay Thai World Champion with over 250 professional fights, having never been knocked out. With a fighting history that spans 35 years, Sakasem is a well respected fighter and trainer both in Thailand and in the U.S.)
LAUREL BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB- Laurel, Maryland. 2002-2003. Took classes under Coach Crawford in kickboxing and non-classical Gung Fu. Consulted in developing a cardio kickboxing program.
CHAMPION KARATE AND KICKBOXING- student of(Bruce Lee's Original Training Partner), Joe Lewis, and his most senior student, John Maynard, in Wilmington, North Carolina. 2000-2001. Mr. Maynard is also a Black Belt under and senior student of Chuck Norris. Mr. Naugle received his Black Belt from Champion Karate and Kickboxing on November of 2000.
HATCHER'S MARTIAL ARTS- Knoxville, Tennessee. 1997-1999. Student of Mr. Brad Hatcher, who was a Representative for the Rickson Gracie Jiu-jitsu Association.
WHITLOW'S TAEKWON DO ACADEMY- Murfreesboro, Tennessee. 1998-1999. Sales Manager for Whitlow's Tae Kwon Do. Also was an assistant Tae Kwon Do instructor for Master Whitlow. He is also the Vice President of the United States Tae Kwon Do Federation and a he is 7th Degree Master in Tae Kwon Do.
ZANSHIN DOJO- Nashville, Tennessee. 1997-2000. Student of Mr. Eric Silver, who is now a Black Belt representative for the Rickson Gracie Jiu-jitsu Association. Mr. Naugle trains with Mr. Silver whenever he gets the chance.
COOKEVILLE MARTIAL ARTS- Cookeville, Tennessee. 1993-1997. Mr. Naugle was a student of Mr. Joe Foster and studied Judo (1st degree Black Belt), Aiki-Ryu Jujitsu (1st degree Black Belt), Tae Kwon Do (Red Belt), Hapkido (Blue Belt) Escrima, Temple Boxing and Hanbo under Mr. Foster.
